01 Overview

Sembada Cup is more than a regional tournament; it is the modernization of the Karang Taruna (youth community) spirit in Sleman, Yogyakarta. Traditionally, neighborhood bonding and kampong pride were forged on local physical courts. Today, that competitive camaraderie has evolved into the digital arena.

Focusing on high-accessibility platforms like Mobile Legends, Free Fire, and eFootball, Sembada Cup was created to channel this modern energy. The objective was to build a new type of digital kinship—providing a structured landscape where the youth of Sleman can showcase their skills, defend their neighborhood’s pride, and forge new connections through the universal language of e-sports.

02 Direction

The Design Concept

To bridge the gap between "grassroots community" and "high-stakes e-sports," the visual direction had to strike a very specific balance. It could not afford to look like a generic, hyper-futuristic global tournament, nor could it look like a casual neighborhood flyer. It needed to feel locally grounded, yet intensely competitive.

Community-Centric Aggression: The design language leverages bold, high-impact typography and aggressive contrast. This captures the adrenaline and high energy of an e-sports arena while remaining highly legible and accessible for a local audience interacting on mobile screens.

The Visual Language of Connection: By utilizing dynamic, intersecting graphical elements and structural grids, the branding physically represents the "networking" of different kampongs. It is a visual metaphor for the invisible digital threads connecting players across the region
